With so many blogs, websites, content to me seems repetive and diluted.

I tend to agree. I have been busy with lots of other stuff lately (just got back from the UK and building up business in a down market is a full time gig), but have been pondering the part this site plays in all that.
I still think that a place like this can be useful. I am more interested in quality vs. quantity here, so not having thousands of members does not phase me. I never started this thing with an eye toward creating a base of people to market too. If we could just get to a level where folks can come on and get some good advice from a few folks, I would be happy.
My hope is that the areas designed just for the verified members will get some traction. However, I have done nothing to promote the site, so I suppose I would need to put some effort into that. The downside there being that you then bring in many of the trolls we hope to avoid. Double edged sword I guess.
I am also noticing an increasing number of other sites where the advice being given out is just plain wrong - or really stupid.
The FSBO thing is actually interesting. I was reviewing some numbers and the number of folks going FSBO is just about the lowest it has ever been. As tough as this market is for real estate people, it is even more tough for FSBOs.

I dove in head first with my first blog post.
It may not be pretty but I think the content is vital and timely.

Good job David!
The key to any blog is just consistency. In our business, it can be very hard to regularly contribute to a blog.
You could get an even bigger bang for the buck by creating your own website outside blogspot and incorporating those entries.
It took me about 8 months of posting original content regularly before I noticed I was showing up on the first page of searches relating to real estate in my area. Soon after that, I started getting good leads from my site.
Keep it up and it will pay off.

Well, 120 Blog entries later...
I have learned so many new things.
Linking the blog to other blogs by topic. Comment and compliment other related blogs with a backlink to your own.
Invite Authors to make regular contributions to your blog related to topic, IE Lawyers, Landlord Tenant Issues.
The results?
The Local Newpaper found me on TWO separate occassions to query about the topics I discussed. GREAT PRESS!

That is awesome David!
I have been doing all the things you have been doing, but sort of wiggled down another road.
While your efforts sound like they have gotten you noticed, mine have only gotten me "nearly" noticed. Which I suppose is not really noticed at all.
A while back I got a call from a producer at "NightLine" who wanted to interview me regarding re-listing. We were all scheduled for a camera interview at my office. Then I got a call letting me know I got bumped for a different interview! So close and yet so far!
I will be giving what has worked for you a try!
Also, let me suggest you start submitting to a few social bookmarking sites. The ones I have had some success with are:
digg.com (I added a Digg button to all my content last week and saw a traffic increase)
propeller.com
del.icio.us (Yes, that is the URL, just copy and paste it in)
stumbleupon.com
Every time you write something, send it to those folks.
